At Guvon Academy Pty Ltd, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is collected and used appropriately, lawfully, and transparently in accordance with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act 2013, Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accessing and using the Guvon Academy website, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please refrain from using our website.
2. USE OF WEBSITE
The content of this website is for your general information and use only. It is subject to change without notice.
Unauthorized use of this website may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offense.
3. COURSE ENROLMENT
Enrolment in any course at Guvon Academy is subject to the completion of the necessary application forms and the payment of required fees.
Admission to courses is subject to meeting the eligibility criteria specified for each course.
4. FEES & PAYMENTS
All students pay a non-refundable deposit that is fixed by Guvon Academy. The student will be informed of such an amount before application.
All course fees must be paid in full prior to the commencement of the course unless a payment plan has been arranged.
Fees are non-refundable except in cases where the course is cancelled by Guvon Academy.
5. CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY FOR TUITION FEES
Students may cancel their enrolment up to 30 days before the course start date for a full refund, less any equipment and textbooks issued, less the refundable deposit and administration fees.
Cancellations made within 4 months after the course start date will incur a 50% cancellation fee, less any equipment and textbooks issued, less the refundable deposit and administration fees.
No refunds will be provided for deregistration after 4 months of the course starting.
6. CODE OF CONDUCT
Students are expected to behave in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
Any form of harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the academy without a refund.
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All materials provided during the course, including recipes, techniques, and course content, are the intellectual property of Guvon Academy and are for personal use only.
Unauthorized distribution or reproduction of course materials is prohibited.
8. PRIVACY POLICY
Guvon Academy is committed to protecting your privacy. Personal information collected during the enrolment process will be used solely for administrative purposes and will not be shared with third parties without your consent.
9. HEALTH & SAFETY
Students must comply with all health and safety regulations while on academy premises.
Proper attire, including chef uniforms and safety shoes, must be worn at all times during practical sessions.
10. LIABILITY
Guvon Academy is not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property that may occur on the academy premises.
Students are responsible for their own safety and the security of their belongings.
11. CHANGES TO TERMS & CONDITIONS
Guvon Academy reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on the website, and continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of these changes.
12. GOVERNING LAW
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
